Powerbuilder 12.5 and Opening PDF for Adobe Reader 10.x with protected view on

We have a Powerbuild 12.5 app and are using Adobe Reader 10.1.4 doesn't matter XP or windows 7 64-bit, when we issue a fileOpen, (these files come from a Windows 2008 server as PDFs), the screen opens and shows a grey screen, if we right-click and refresh on the grey screen, the image appears.

If we turn off protected mode it works. We do not want to turn this off for this many people. So we have tried the following without luck and are looking for help:

1) ADM template and enable the trusted site which \\ddd-123 is a trusted site

2) Adobe Reader | Security (Enhanced) | add folder path of \\ddd-123 and check automatically trust from my Win OS security zones and it still doesn't work

If we manually walk out to the Windows 2008 server and click the PDF it takes a while to open the first time, then opens quickly, but none the less, it opens fine.

Thoughts?

Are you using PB12.5 Classic or .NET? Also, are you using an embedded ActiveX control, or opening via OLE to the Adobe Reader application itself?

Classic

uo_adobe.ole_image.Object.Loadfile(is_pdf_file)

We noticed in a wireshark trace, when a pdf is called to be opened, with Adobe X protected mode on, it references first to the IPC$ share and not the Data share.  With protected mode off, it calls from the data share and opens the file right away.  We've found a few others with this version of adobe that is also having that issue in the Adobe forums and it specifically with shares to a server.

Hi, skyeyes.

I am not using Adobe's products. As for myself, I am learning about how to create PDF reader with the help of some manual tools which can be customized by users according to our own favors to help read PDF files these days. You can also google it and select one whose way of processing is simple and fast to help you with the related work. Remember to check its free trial package first if possible. I hope you success. Good luck.

Best regards,
Arron

Hi, Arron.

Thanks for your nice sharing. But I wonder whether it supports pdf conversion process as well?
