2D Barcode Printing using Powerbuilder

Hi Everyone,

I just want ask for a help to anybody who has idea on how to generate 2D Barcode printing using Powerbuilder.

I tried already using QRCode 2D Barcode ActiveX, a demo version downloaded from internet. It was successfully registered, then I insert the said control in my datawindow. I want to set value on that ole from the value of one column retrieved on the datawindow so I put that column under Target Data Option in the Data Tab of that OLE Object properties. The 2D Barcode can be printed but the problem is when I scan the 2D Barcode, value of the column cannot display instead 12MW6 DEMO always comes out.

Hoping somebody here can provide some helpful information to solve my problem.

There is a good chance the demo version will always print that way. Contact the vendor to verify that the bought version will not do this.

I read from the internet that in order to use the 2D Barcode (QRCODE or DATAMATRIX) ActiveX, the software ur using should be an activex-compliant environment. I'm using Powerbuilder 8 and this version is not an activex-compliant, I'm not sure w/ the higher version I haven't try.

But anyway, what I did is I used the MS Access to create the report format for 2D barcode printing. I used the macro to open & print the report, then automatically closed the MS Access application. In the powerbuilder program, I run the macro for printing and solved my problem.

Hey, guys, share a good barcode solution site with you all. It's called onbarcode. I found it through Google. I used their Java Class barcode generator library. Not bad. I believe you can find your barcode solution there.

I have only tested the free trial package of another barcode SDK. It worked well for me. You can also google it and have a try. Good luck.
